I am so honoured to be a part of the FIRST @euflowergrowers conference...as part of the “marketing 101” discussion-I will be breaking down our marketing strategy to florists. Florists are visual shoppers and we will be analysing the visual language we use to explain to our clients what is available. I’m just running with my hellebore theme...here are a sampling from my field collection...these are my oldest ones planted 5 years ago at the edge of one of our leased properties. Hellebore are very much the “long view” in terms of profitability and at this point really act more like creative musings rather than big stem producers, but we are aiming at changing that on the new farm💎💎💎These typically arrive later for me, in April usually. When asked what’s my favorite flower? It’s easy...foxgloves. We grow 4 plantings per season...one in @farmandfloracollective (already growing) one in our unheated high tunnels (already growing) and two in our fields (one succession will be sown end of January and we will transplant to field ASAP in late March, final sowing end of February to be transplanted late April) ...and don’t forget all the biannual varieties AND the perennial variety digitalis Lutea...so yeah....we go hard with foxgloves. #foxglove #digitalis #flowerfarming #successionseeding

As our winter sweet peas are starting to crawl the trellis at @farmandfloracollective ....Our second planting of sweet peas are currently sprouting in cell trays in our greenhouse...these will be planted into our unheated gh in about 3-4 weeks...we have added a 3rd sweet pea planting this year for our Spring plant sale!!!!
