Specialty Lily CSA Share 2024

Our newest addition to our flower share lineup….we are trialing something new to help keep the flower shares more affordable and accessible as gifts, as many of them are sold that way. Our Lily share will feature 4 weeks of CRAZY gorgeous lily in various varieties, styles and color types…..sometimes in single variety bunches, and sometimes mixed with another crop from the farm that is in abundance at that moment…time with tell with agriculture! BUT the lily are wonderfully reliable and stable crop for a CSA flower share!

*Asiatic Lily (no scent)
*roselily (delicate scent)
*tiger lily (no scent)

This share is during our peak summer production and aimed to begin sometime in July!!!!!!!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING

This flower share will have a variable start date. The start date is determined when production becomes consistent and reliable….We estimate/guess for it to begin sometime in July 2024….but the start date NEEDS to have some flexibility because of the nature of farming and seasonality.

This share will be 4 weeks featuring our INSANE lily production…sometimes mixed lily with another crop, sometimes straight variety lily dependent on what is blooming at what rate and when. Pick up will be at the Little State Flower Company farmstand located at 487 East Rd Tiverton RI.

Please carefully read the below information before making your purchase so you FULLY UNDERSTAND what you are agreeing to.

By purchasing the “Tulip-a-looza Winter Flower CSA Share” you are entering an agreement with Little State Flower Company. CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture” and you can read exactly what that means here (SPECIFICALLY focus on the concept of “shared risk”):    https://www.localharvest.org/csa/

To help you understand things from our end regarding a CSA model…an example of something that could go “wrong” would be that we have a fungus outbreak in our lily plantings….but please understand that also means we can not SELL ANY LILY TO ANYONE…that is the risk we all run in this agreement….so we all feel that loss together in “shared risk” BUT….we can revel in other flower crops that are not having production issues and appreciate them even more if something like that were to happen (bt honestly lily are a ERY reliable crop)…we can always assure that there is FLOWERS AROUND….so there is a way to handle it all. All farms run the risk of weather, insects, fungus, etc problems and we all do our best to prepare for such issues.

There will be a variable start date based on abundance and availability, but at this time we are estimating for this specific share to start sometime in JULY 2024. Once the dates of the CSA are announced, all the pick ups will be SATURDAYS for 4 consecutive weeks. You will be emailed about two weeks before the first pick up, but we will also announce on instagram and facebook. The cost of the flower CSA includes administrative and processing fees as well as the costs of the flowers. The money will be distributed throughout the four weeks and one week make be larger or more abundant than another…depending on production. There is no set amount of money per week but you WILL get the full cost distributed to you by the end of the CSA run. Think of this in terms of a vegetable CSA…typically at the start you may only get chard and kale, but later on your are getting 20 different vegetables varieties. As we grow more diverse and abundant, so does the flower CSA.

ALL CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE DONE VIA EMAIL. So please be sure to carefully type in your correct email or you will not receive our announcements. We are not responsible if you type in your email incorrectly OR do not check your email regularly.

We advise that you pick up your share as early as you can at each location. The pick up location you choose assumes no responsibility for the quality of the flowers after the scheduled pick up day/times. If you can NOT make one of your pick up dates, we suggest that you send a friend or neighbor to gather your flowers for you! We are sorry but we can not ‘DOUBLE UP’ the next week for you. Harvesting and organizing the CSA shares is a complicated and large task, and we can not deviate from the schedule or plan.

The CSA shares are non-refundable but you can easily transfer your share to another person if you like.
