Epic Dahlia Bunch CSA 2024

Everyone is obsessed with dahlias…including us!!! We are excited to offer our 4th annual “Epic Dahlia Bunch CSA 2024″! Little State Flower Company grows over 8000 dahlia plants and over 60 different varieties in both field and greenhouses. Join us for 4 weeks of HUGE bouquets of freshly harvested dahlia bunches…..each week will feature different varieties and colors BUT only the BEST OF THE BEST is reserved for our Epic Dahlia Bunch CSA” Members!!!

Please carefully read the below information before making your purchase so you FULLY UNDERSTAND what you are agreeing to.

By purchasing the “Epic Dahlia Bunch CSA 2024” you are entering an agreement with Little State Flower Company. CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture” and you can read exactly what that means here (SPECIFICALLY  the concept of “shared risk”):    https://www.localharvest.org/csa/

To help you understand things from our end regarding a CSA model…an example of something that could go “wrong” with dahlias would be…a massive wind storm blows through and knocks down few dahlia varieties or deer come thru and massacre the field early on (happened in 2023)….therefore you would end up with slightly less varieties in your dahlia bunches….but please understand that also means we can not SELL those specific dahlia varieties in our retail outlets or to our wholesalers either…so we all feel that loss together in “shared risk” BUT….we can revel in the other dahlia varieties that survived the windstorm. All farms run the risk of weather, insects, fungus, etc problems and we all do our best to prepare for such issues.

There will be a variable start date based on abundance and availability. Once the start date is announced, all pick ups will be on Saturdays from Little State Flower Company Farmstand in Tiverton RI.  The CSA will continue for 4 consecutive weeks. You will be emailed about two weeks before the first pick up, but we will also announce on instagram and facebook. We anticipate the first pick up to be mid-late August. The cost of the dahlia CSA includes administrative and processing fees as well as the costs of the flowers. The money will be distributed throughout the four weeks and one week make be larger or more abundant than another….or….one week may have lots of pink dahlia and another will have no pink dahlia. There is no set amount of money per week but you WILL get the full cost distributed to you by the end of the CSA run. Think of this in terms of a vegetable CSA…typically at the start you may only get chard and kale, but later on your are getting 20 different vegetables varieties. As we grow more diverse and abundant, so does the flower CSA.

ALL CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE DONE VIA EMAIL. So please be sure to carefully type in your correct email or you will not receive our announcements. We are not responsible if you type in your email incorrectly OR do not check your email regularly.

The pick up location you choose assumes no responsibility for the quality of the flowers after the scheduled pick up day/times. If you can NOT make one of your pick up dates, we suggest that you send a friend or neighbor to gather your flowers for you! We are sorry but we can not ‘DOUBLE UP’ the next week for you. Harvesting and organizing the CSA shares is a complicated and large task, and we can not deviate from the schedule or plan.

The CSA shares are non-refundable but you can easily transfer your share to another person if you like.
