We are thrilled to announce the opening of our “Spring Fever Flower Bunch” CSA 2023. This will be a POWERHOUSE of the finest blooms in New England coming into production SUPER EARLY in the growing season. Our Spring flowers are sustainable and organic, grown all Winter here in Tiverton RI. Each week will feature either a mixed bunch of various flowers OR some weeks may be a big bunch of a single crop, like French tulips. Flowers in season during Early Spring are some of the finest flowers of our entire season. Crops such as ranunculus, anemone, freesia, butterfly ranunculus, tulips, narcissus, hellebore and more (based on availability) are the queens of the farm this time of year.  This is a VERY SPECIAL flower CSA. All the highest end and most perfect Spring blooms from both our Winter heated greenhouse production AND our main production fields.

Please carefully read the below information before making your purchase so you FULLY UNDERSTAND what you are agreeing to.

By purchasing the “Spring Fever Flower Bundle CSA 2022” you are entering an agreement with Little State Flower Company. CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture” and you can read exactly what that means here (SPECIFICALLY focus on the concept of “shared risk”):    https://www.localharvest.org/csa/

To help you understand things from our end regarding a CSA model…an example of something that could go “wrong” would be that the heater fails in the ranunculus greenhouse on an extremely cold night…therefore you will not be getting ranunculus in your CSA….but please understand that also means we can not SELL ranunculus in our retail outlets or to our wholesalers, which is a huge early income crop for us…so we all feel that loss together in “shared risk” BUT….we can revel in other flower crops that survive colder temperatures and appreciate them even more if something like that were to happen. All farms run the risk of weather, insects, fungus, etc problems and we all do our best to prepare for such issues.

There will be a variable start date based on abundance and availability. Once the dates of the CSA are announced, all the pick ups will be SATURDAYS for 4 consecutive weeks. You will be emailed about two weeks before the first pick up, but we will also announce on instagram and facebook. We anticipate the first pick up to be sometime in April…..completely weather and crop dependant. The cost of the flower CSA includes administrative and processing fees as well as the costs of the flowers. The money will be distributed throughout the four weeks and one week make be larger or more abundant than another….or….one week may have lots of tulips and the next week it will have no tulips but lots of ranunculus. There is no set amount of money per week but you WILL get the full cost distributed to you by the end of the CSA run. Think of this in terms of a vegetable CSA…typically at the start you may only get chard and kale, but later on your are getting 20 different vegetables varieties. As we grow more diverse and abundant, so does the flower CSA.

ALL CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE DONE VIA EMAIL. So please be sure to carefully type in your correct email or you will not receive our announcements. We are not responsible if you type in your email incorrectly OR do not check your email regularly.

We advise that you pick up your share as early as you can at each location. The pick up location you choose assumes no responsibility for the quality of the flowers after the scheduled pick up day/times. If you can NOT make one of your pick up dates, we suggest that you send a friend or neighbor to gather your flowers for you! We are sorry but we can not ‘DOUBLE UP’ the next week for you. Harvesting and organizing the CSA shares is a complicated and large task, and we can not deviate from the schedule or plan.

The CSA shares are non-refundable but you can easily transfer your share to another person if you like.
