We offer this in a 1 hour long group study session and you can choose your date and time from the drop down menu.
Experience Level: Beginner (0-3 years of cut flower growing experience)
For the first 30 minutes, Anna Jane will go into detail on the various types of ranunculus currently available for production cut flower growers in the US and which varieties she relies on yearly. She will break down her sprouting and planting technique as well as her succession planting schedule from her Winter heated series to unheated tunnel series to her field plantings. A break down of budgeting, labor, pest management and sales analysis will help guide participants in understanding if these fussy crops are for them.
***PLEASE NOTE-Anna Jane’s teaching style is comprehensive, concise and fast paced. We do NOT record the sessions. These are intended to be an interactive study session with an experienced grower running a profitable flower farm. A pdf outline of the educational talk will be sent ahead of the session along with a google meet link for the session to be prepared to use this forum ahead of time.
The second half of the session will be dedicated to answering a question from each of the participants in a group study session format. To get the most out of this session, here is a suggested preparation list:
*do you have a budget for these difficult crops? if not what how will you make up if you have crop loss over Winter?
*analyze your current production-where will these crops fit into your current planting schedule
*will you grow these in a greenhouse or field? or both?
*do you have a safe location to sprout these crops before planting out? or will you plant directly after soaking?
****Power Flower Study Sessions are NON-REFUNDABLE and we can not take “tax exemption” forms at this time. Please be sure you can attend, as we do not offer refunds on the study sessions…. but if you can not make it, you can give this to a friend/employee/colleague-please let us know the email to switch it to***
