The Team

Anna Jane Kocon
Owner

Anna Jane is the founder and owner of Little State Flower Company. She grew up in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and loves all things New England. Anna Jane has a Masters in Fine Arts as well as 10 years flower farming experience. Her favorite parts of running Little State Flower Company are early morning walks through the fields taking time to check on all the crops and working closely with her florists to help them realize their creative visions. She lives in Rhode Island with her husband Bradley, two dogs, one barn cat, and a rotating cast of egg laying chickens. Her favorite flowers are calendula, columbines and nasturtiums.

Jill Rizzo
Events Manager

Jill manages all the wedding and event floral design for Little State Flower Company. She has recently re-located to Newport, RI and is the owner of Studio Choo East, an East coast branch of the famous Studio Choo based out of San Francisco (www.studiochoo.com). Additionally Jill is the co-author of the wildly popular “The Flower Recipe Book” and “The Wreath Recipe Book”. If you are having Little State Flower Company design your wedding or event, not only will it be created with the freshest and highest quality flowers New England can offer, but you are also lucky enough to have this super talented and creative artist as your floral designer!  Her favorite flowers are lily of the valley, fritillaria, and crabapple blossoms.

Sarah
Harvest Manager

Sarah is a powerhouse farm girl with a strong back and a positive attitude! She has been farming with Little State Flower Co for two years and manages all of the harvesting and planting, rain or shine! When she is not flower farming you can find her adventuring the beaches and trails of the island with her daughter Forest, working with natural dyes for her lil start up business  “Nude on The Moon” or making digital collage art for fun. She is pursuing an education majoring in geology & oceanography – but says she “will always be a flower farmer”. Her favorite flowers are nigella, sweet peas, mums & marigolds.
